Ha Noi honors ten outstanding citizens in 2017

Ten outstanding citizens of Ha Noi capital city in 2017 are honored at a meeting on October 8.


The event saw the attendance of Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Education and Information Vo Van Thuong, Deputy Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Hong Lan, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Tran Thi Ha, Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Dao Duc Toan, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee's chapter in Ha Noi, Vu Hong Khanh, among others.

Addressing the meeting,  Ha Noi Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that the year of 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of Ha Noi’s “good people, good deeds” movement, which has been responded by all levels, sectors and a large number of local people.

Over the past 25 years, the movement has developed deeply and widely, contributing to completing the socio-economic tasks of the capital city. More than 24,000 people with good deeds have been honored by municipal authorities while over 32,000 people have been rewarded by administrations at the district level.

The movement honored those with creative minds who came up with effective solutions in various fields, including production, science and technology, business and administrative reform.

A number of movements in charity, economic development, poverty reduction and protecting security have been spread to all districts.

In this year’s event, 790 of the 11,250 people with good deeds recognized by local authorities received praise from the Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee this year.

Launching the patriotic emulation campaign in 2018, the city Chairman asked all levels and sectors to continue implementing effectively the contents and solutions under the Plan No. 115 of the City People's Committee on renewing and improving the quality of emulation and commendation work.

The city will pay more attention to people directly engaging in good deeds while stepping up communications to expand the “Good persons, good deeds” movement, he added.

The list of ten outstanding citizens includes:

1/ Photographer Le Vuong (born in 1918), a member of the Hanoi Union of Literature and Arts Associations;

2/ Wushu artist Duong Thuy Vi (born in 1993), a athlete of Ha Noi’ and Viet Nam's Wushu team;

3/ Doctor of Medicine Tran Xuan Bach (born in 1984), a lecturer at Institute for Preventive medicine and public health, under the Hà Nội Medical University;

4/ Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy (born in 1958), a lecturer of the Institute for Transport Science and Technology;

5/ Chairman of the Ha Noi Traditional Medicine Association physician Nguyen Hong Siem (born in 1956);

6/ Nguyen Huu Loc (born in 1960) under the Ha Noi Inspectorate Department;

7/ Dang Cat (born in 1938) in Nhat Tan Ward – Tay Ho District;

8/ Artisan Le Ba Chung (born in 1960) in Kieu Ki Commune – Gia Lam District;

9/ Ta Dinh Huy (born in 1983) in Thuong Vuc Commune – Chuong My District;

10/ Sen. Lt. Col. Dao Anh Tuan, deputy head of the police division for criminal hunting of the Ha Noi Department of Public Security (born in 1967).
